Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap was among many actors and voices from the entertainment industry, who reacted to the Jamia protests, and termed the Narendra Modi¡¯s government ¡°fascist¡± over the police crackdown on the students of Jamia Milia and Aligarh Muslim University following their protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

Earlier, actor Sayani Gupta urged Hindi film actors to speak up including Rajkummar Rao who had taken a selfie with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Gupta¡¯s tweet said:?

Latest Update:?While there seems to be a lot of anger against police action inside Jamia Millia Islamia campus, the Supreme Court has agreed to?hear pleas, alleging Delhi police of carrying out atrocities on students holding protests against the amended Citizenship Act at JMI and AMU.
The court will hear the pleas tomorrow.?
