Veteran actor and Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu¡¯s father, Krishna passed away aged 79 on November 15th. Several celebrities including Chiranjeevi and JNR NTR had condoled his death. It was Krishna¡¯s son Mahesh Babu whose statement was awaited by fans and he has now poured his out.
Mahesh wrote, ¡°Your life was celebrated...your passing is being celebrated even more...such is your greatness. You lived your life fearlessly...daring and dashing was your nature. My inspiration...my courage...and all that I looked up to and all that really mattered are gone just like that.¡±
The note further read, ¡°But strangely, I feel this strength in me which I never really felt before...Now I'm fearless... your light will shine in me forever...I will carry your legacy forward...I will make you even more proud¡ Love you Nanna, My Superstar.¡± Ghattamaneni Sivarama Krishna was accorded a state funeral.
Krishna's funeral was held in Hyderabad¡¯s Nanakramguda in Hyderabad with several family members and celebrities paying their last respects. Chiranjeevi, Vijay Devarakonda, Mohan Babu, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Rana Daggubati, Prabhas, D Suresh Babu and Naga Chaitanya were seen in attendance.
Back then, Krishna¡¯s Ghattamaneni family also collectively issued a statement on this heartbreaking incident. In another development, the Telugu Film Producers Council had also announced that all film-related activities will be cancelled for a day and the industry was closed as a mark of respect for the late actor Krishna.
Known as Telugu cinema¡¯s first superstar, Krishna was admitted to a Hyderabad hospital on November 14 following a cardiac arrest. He passed away the next morning. Krishna, who became popular with his cowboy roles, began his career in the early 1960s and acted in about 350 films. He was a Lok Sabha member from the Eluru Parliamentary constituency and served the cinema for over six decades.
