In the early hours of 15th November, veteran Telugu actor Ghattamaneni Sivarama Krishna passed away at the age of 80. Several celebrities including Chiranjeevi and Jr NTR shared condolences on social media after the actor¡¯s death.
In an official and first statement issued by GMB Entertainment, apart from Mahesh and Namrata, the statement took cognizance of their children--Gautham and Sitara as well as the actor's sisters Manjula, Padmavathi, and Priyadarshini Ghattamaneni. As per PTI, Krishna died of a cardiac arrest at a Hyderabad hospital where he was undergoing treatment and was put on a ventilator since Monday.
The official statement read, "It is with the deepest grief that we inform you of the passing of our dearest Krishna Garu. He was a superstar in so many ways beyond the movie screen... guided by love, humility and compassion. He will live on through his work, through us, and the many lives he influenced. He loved us more than anything and we will miss him more with each passing day... but as they say, goodbyes aren't forever. Until we meet again... - THE GHATTAMANENI FAMILY."
Several celebrities and fans took to the post¡¯s comment section and shared strength with the grieving family. Krishna, who earned fame with his cowboy roles, began his career in the early 1960s and acted in about 350 films. He was a Lok Sabha member from the Eluru Parliamentary constituency and has been credited for introducing advanced technologies in filmmaking.
Chiranjeevi shared a note in Telugu on Twitter where he wrote, "This is sad beyond words. It is unbelievable that the Superstar Krishna has left us. He is a person with a heart as big as the Himalayas. A Breath of adventure (This was a literal translation, read it as an adventurous soul), a synonym for bravery (a brave heart). Bravery, adventure, determination, humane, and goodness¡ he is a combination of all of this."
"Krishna Garu is another name for adventure. Apart from many experimental films and distinctive characters, your credit for introducing many techniques to Telugu cinema will always be remembered. My thoughts are with Mahesh Anna and the family. Om Shanthi. Superstar forever," Jr NTR tweeted.
