Shah Rukh Khan's name has been embroiled in a new controversy. The superstar known for his wit and humour left most people in awe as he took center stage to share some words at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's pre-wedding celebrations. However, he ended up offending some people too.
This happened after Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan joined hands to perform on stage. As they all danced together to RRR song Naatu Naatu, they seemingly couldn't get the dance steps right. So, they called RRR star Ram Charan to join them on stage. "Ram Charan, where are you?" he asked before uttering gibberish and mentioning "Idli".?
This has angered Ram Charan's wife Upasana Konidela's makeup artist who took to Instagram to express the same and mentioned that she walked out of the party after this happened. "Bhend idly vada Ram charan kahan hai tu." ??? I walked out after this. So disrespectful towards a star like @alwaysramcharan," she wrote.
"Shah Rukh Khan is being racist to South Indians by calling 'Ram Charan idli' after a South Indian director gave him the biggest hit of his career," an X (formerly called Twitter) user wrote.
"Shah Rukh Khan being casually racist to Ram Charan who is South Indian by calling him idli. I wonder if his so called well educated and sophisticated fanbase will condemn it," said another one.
"Shah Rukh Khan must not casually pass racist comments towards a particular community. Zeba who is the make-up artist of Ram Charan's wife has rightly called out him for that thing," said another one.
