The Indian musical composer AR Rahman has secured double nominations for the Malayalam film Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards, aka HMMA. An already Oscar-winner, AR Rahman has earned the two nods for his work in Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life, which stars Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role. With the upcoming HMMA, the Malayalam-language movie by Blessy has earned global spotlight through AR Rahman¡¯s soundtrack.
AR Rahman's Periyone, which has been performed by Jithin Raj, has earned a nomination in the ¡®Song - Feature Film¡¯ category. Other than this, AR Rahman's work on Aadujeevitham's background score has also been nominated in the ¡®Score - Independent Film (Foreign Language)¡¯ category.
Organized by the Hollywood Music in Media Academy, this event basically recognizes original music. This year's nominations list is a mix of globally renowned artists. Other than AR Rahman, the artists that have been nominated for different categories are Elton John, Brandi Carlile, Miley Cyrus, Hans Zimmer, and Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross.
The event is scheduled for November 20. This will take place at the Avalon Theatre in Los Angeles.
This Malayalam movie is based on a real-life story and a 2008 novel titled Aadujeevitham by Benyamin, The Goat Life.?
The movie is all about the real-life Najeeb, a young man from Kerala who migrates to the Gulf in search of a better life. Other than Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film stars Amala Paul, KR Gokul, and Hollywood actor Jimmy Jean-Louis, alongside Arab actors Talib al Balushi and Rik Aby. The movie is available for streming on OTT giant Netflix.?
