Sonu Nigam's tweets on Azaan and noise pollution has blown into a controversy and we are not surprised. Considering how a person can be made to pay heavily for expressing his or her opinion on social media sites, this surely hasn't come as a surprise. While we thought that the criticism will remain just to hate tweets and trolling, there is a new twist to the whole controversy. According to a DNA report, a senior member of a minority council issued a fatwa against the singer.
Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi, vice president, West Bengal Minority United Council was quoted in the report saying,?
At a press conference that was held by the Maulvi, he said that no one has the right to hurt the religious sentiments of people. He said,

Talking about the rally that he is planning against Sonu Nigam, he said,
Sabir Ali, general secretary of the council too?criticised Sonu Nigam and called the tweets a publicity stunt.?
