'100 Times Better Than 3 Idiots': Mukesh Chhabra Says Shah Rukh's Dunki Will Break All Records

Popular casting director Mukesh Chhabra was the one who brought together the ensemble cast of Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming movie Dunki. Other than Shah Rukh Khan, this comedy-drama features Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani and Vicky Kaushal. Mukesh has now shared how this movie will eventually break all records.

Dunki is a journey film which marks the first collaboration between SRK and veteran filmmaker Hirani who is known for films like Sanju, PK and 3 Idiots.

Mukesh recently gave an interview to Indian Express where he shared that Dunki will be “remembered for the next ten years.” He continued, “Raju Hirani is an entire film school, working with him is like a film institute. You learn every aspect of filmmaking when you work with that guy.”

“I have done all his ads, PK and Sanju, so I have spent a lot of time. His casting doesn’t get over in a month, it goes on for 2 years because that man eats, breathes and sleeps films. When I read the script of Dunki, I was blown away. If you loved 3 idiots, it is going to be 100 times better than that. I have cried whenever I have read the script. Every time.”

Mukesh feels that the movie which is scheduled for December 21 release will remind audiences of the simplicity of timeless Indian classics.

He who will be next seen in the Sony LIV’s Chamak shared, “The film will break all the records. It is the purest form of filmmaking, like how we remember Anand and Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s films, Do Aankhen Barah Haath? Same way you will be talking about Dunki for many, many years to come. I mean it. Every piece of my heart feels this.”

During a promotional event for Dunki, Hirani revealed, “I used to study at a film institute and I used to wonder, I am graduating from here, but who would work with me?' I used to look at big stars like Bachchan Sahab and think, why would a star like him work with me?”

“So, one day, in my hostel's TV room, I was watching Circus. In a particular scene, a young actor was performing on a platform. It was a big monologue. I thought, who is this guy? This is so wonderful. He is not a big actor. I can take him in my film after I graduate.”
