Neena Gupta Has Never Seen A Happy Marriage, Says 'It Is Always Full Of Compromises'
Neena Gupta has raised her daughter who is now a successful fashion designer as a single mother and she has no regrets. She didn't even want to depend on anyone for money.
She had an affair with West Indies cricketer Vivian Richards back in 1989, but now Gupta is married to Vivek Sharma for 13 years.
At the Times Literature Festival, Neena Gupta said that she has never seen a happy marriage and that it is always full of compromises.
"I haven¡¯t seen a happy marriage around me so I don't know. It¡¯s always full of compromises. I don¡¯t have an answer to this question myself. Each individual has to make their own choice according to what they¡¯re looking for in life," she said.?

Earlier, Gupta had revealed that when she was pregnant with Masaba outside of wedlock, she was told to marry a gay man. In her autobiography titled Sach Kahun Toh, she said several friends including Satish Kaushik offered to marry her, and a friend suggested she should marry a gay man to avoid societal pressures.
"I laughed them off because I didn't feel right about getting married just to avoid controversy. I knew I would have to answer very difficult questions. Being a public figure meant that our lives, mine and my child's, would always be up for speculation. But I told myself I would cross that bridge when I come to it. Until then, I would hide behind loose clothes for as long as I could," said Neena.
