There are some TV shows that will live in the hearts of their fans until the end of time. Prison Break is one such show that has a cult following. It has been a long time the last season aired, right? Now, after so many speculations, actor?Dominic Purcell has confirmed that there will be a season 6 to the show that originally ran between 2005 to 2017.?
Addressing several rumours about himself and the show, Purcell wrote on Instagram, "Rumor number 1. I'm old. Yes I'm 50... Rumor number 2. I'm bald. No I have a full head of hair; the people demand I shave it. Rumor number 3, Will season pb 6 happen. Yes....."
The TV series followed the story of Micheal Scofield (Wentworth Miller), an engineer who installs himself in a prison that he helped to design, in order to save his falsely accused brother Lincoln Burrows (Purcell) from a death sentence.
Months after the show wrapped its fifth installment in May 2017, Purcell took to social media to announce a follow-up season."@prisonbreak #prisonbreak 6. In the works," he had written, alongside the poster of the show.
Fox Entertainment's CEO Charlie Collier, on the other hand, in 2019 had said that while there are no plans as of then to bring the show back, there are possibilities of reviving it in furture.
"There's no plan right now to revive Prison Break or any of the other franchises, but when the creators come with a story that they think is the right time to tell, we are so ready to listen because those are some franchises of which I'm so proud and feel so fortunate that they're in our stable."
Fans meanwhile are going bonkers since the time Dominic Purcell has confirmed the show.
