The good news is that Indian short film titled Bittu has been shortlisted for Oscar 2021 nominations. While everyone is proud and happy about it, the star cast of the movie, 10-year-old Rani and eight-year-old Renu Kumari, are in dire need of funds. The girls need money for their education.?
Directed by Karishma Dev Dube, Bittu is a heartwarming tale of friendship--based on a true story--between two young school-going girls based on a backdrop of a tragic incident. The film casts children from the valleys of the Himalayas and was shot against the backdrop of the mountains. It offers a visually aesthetic as well as an authentic experience to its viewers.
Priyanka Chopra has joined hands to raise funds for the education of these children that starred in the short film including the lead pair Rani and Renu. The movie is being supported by Indian Women Rising, an endeavor to support and empower Indian female talent in cinema, a cinema collective founded by Ekta Kapoor, Guneet Monga, Tahira Kashyap Khurrana, and Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh.
Priyanka says she has done her bit and has urged other people to contribute whatever they can.?
