Made on a budget of Rs 29 crores, Kantara is a film that showcases the cultural practice of Kambla and Bhootha Kola, which is an animistic ritual dance performance to worship the deities.?
The film has already broken several records at the box office and has become the second highest-grossing Kannada film of all time after KGF.It has also become the most-watched film ever in the state of Karnataka beating Yash starrer KGF Chapter 2.
Vivek Agnihotri, Kangana Ranaut, Rajnikanth are a few among those who have lauded Rishab's latest film. Kangana even said that Kantara is an Oscar-worthy movie while filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri called it a 'masterpiece.'?
The film has also landed in some controversies because of showcasing Bhoota Kola practice and also because of plagiarism accusations by the famous Kerala music band Thaikudam Bridge.?
