Rishab Shetty's 'Masterpiece' Kantara To Release On OTT Next Month? Makers React To Rumors

Rishab Shetty's latest release Kantara, a Kannada film that has been hailed as a masterpiece for its unique content, has created a huge buzz ever since it hit theatres on September 30, 2022.?

Made on a budget of Rs 29 crores, Kantara is a film that showcases the cultural practice of Kambla and Bhootha Kola, which is an animistic ritual dance performance to worship the deities.?

The film has already broken several records at the box office and has become the second highest-grossing Kannada film of all time after KGF.It has also become the most-watched film ever in the state of Karnataka beating Yash starrer KGF Chapter 2.

Vivek Agnihotri, Kangana Ranaut, Rajnikanth are a few among those who have lauded Rishab's latest film. Kangana even said that Kantara is an Oscar-worthy movie while filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri called it a 'masterpiece.'?

Due to its massive success, some reports even claimed that the film is slated to release on OTT on November 4. However, the film's producer has now reacted to the rumours and said that the film is not releasing next month.? ?

On October 27, producer Karthik Gowda revealed that reports of Kantara making its way to OTT on November 4 are 'fake'. The producer further shared that the makers of Kantara will officially announce the release date of the film on OTT only when they are ready.?

The film has also landed in some controversies because of showcasing Bhoota Kola practice and also because of plagiarism accusations by the famous Kerala music band Thaikudam Bridge.?

According to the band, makers have copied the song 'Varaha Roopam' from their song 'Navarasam.' The popular band has also threatened the film's creative team that it will take legal action for the same.?

Kantara fared well in all four languages - Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil after its release.
