Sussanne Khan Calls Co-Parenting In The Same House With Hrithik A 'Soulful Decision' For Sons

Breaking the popular notion that celebrity divorces are mostly ugly, Sussanne Khan and Hrithik Roshan are busy setting their own ground rules and parenting principles.?

The couple may have amicably parted ways, ending their 14 years of marriage but grace and dignity have always remained intact in their relationship.?

Their relationship as co-parents isn't confined to customary annual birthday calls and festivals, rather, it's much more. Even after the divorce, they're best friends who show up for each other, and for their sons Hridhaan and Hreehan, they turn into co-parents who take equal responsibility.?

Well, they set another benchmark when they decided to co-parent together by moving in together during the lockdown.

After more than a month of living together, Sussanne wrote a blog on her co-parenting journey with ex-husband Hrithik amid a pandemic.?

1. On how it was a 'soulful' decision that they took together:?

"When COVID-19 was declared a pandemic and the news was out that a lockdown would be imperative, Hrithik and I decided that staying together in the same home would be the more intelligent and soulful decision for our sons, and us. We realized early on that the days ahead would require us to regroup our energies towards creating serenity for one another. With that thought in mind, and a heap full of love, we started on our lockdown adventure."?

2. She broke down the details of how she and Hrithik are trying and make the lockdown period an interesting learning experience for sons.

"So here we are, in lockdown for more than 45 days, living through an unusual time that we have never experienced before in our lifetimes. On the first day itself, we sat together and created a list of ‘quarantivities’ (activities to do as a family in quarantine). The idea was to structure our days in such a way that we grow our minds, warm our hearts and keep our bodies fit and strong—where we have no option but to use a little creativity and innovation to enjoy our days without a sense of monotony seeping through."?

3. She also appreciated Hrithik's idea of proposing an activity that the whole family should do together:?

"What I enjoy the most is the one hour reading time we’ve set aside for ourselves. It was Hrithik’s idea that we should do this, sit together silently in the same room, and read our books, at least five times a week. It’s wholesome bonding time with the boys that enriches our hearts along with our brains."

When Sussanne had moved in with Hrithik Roshan, he had appreciated her gesture and gracefully penned down a note full of gratitude for her.?In his own words, Hrithik wrote:

"It is unimaginable for me, as a parent, to think of having to be separated from my children at a time when the country is practicing lockdowns. While the world talks about humanity coming together, I think it represents more than just an idea especially for parents sharing custody of their kids. How to keep their kids close to them without infringing on the right of the other who also has an equal right to be with his/her children. This is a picture of dear Sussanne (my ex-wife), who has graciously volunteered to temporarily move out of her home so that our children are not disconnected indefinitely from either one of us. Thank you Sussanne for being so supportive and understanding in our journey of co-parenting. Our children will tell the story we create for them."
