Melek Mosso, a well-known Turkish singer, chopped off a part of her hair while performing to show her support for the Iranian protesters. A brief video of the event has gone viral online, and the singer is receiving praise for her brave and generous act.
"Turkish singer Melek Mosso cuts off her hair on stage in solidarity with the Iranian women. Thank you, Melek!" And it ended with the hashtags, "Mahsa Amini and Iran Protests 2022."?
As the audience applauds her feat, Melek is seen cutting off her hair. The audience cheers, hoots, and whistles as she throws her hair onto the stage.?The Turkish singer didn't stop there; she began cutting her hair with scissors.?
One user commented, "I think the revolution has begun. This will happen all around the world."
Melek has a record of being a strong advocate for women's rights. Melek was removed from the stage in 2020 after criticizing the release of a Turkish police officer who had committed rape.
Amini, a native of the western city of Saqez and a member of the Kurdish ethnic group, was detained on September 13 while on holiday with her family in Tehran.
The morality police in Tehran detained her outside a metro station. They charged her with disobeying the legislation mandating that women cover their arms and legs with loose clothing and hair with a hijab.
After three days in a coma, state television declared her dead on Friday.
