Did?Vijay Mallya attend Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding? Of course, he didn't. However, fans think they spotted him during a performance by music maestro AR Rahman. He is not who they think he is.?
In this video doing the rounds, fans have confused Indian film score composer and music director Ranjit Barot as Vijay Mallya, the Indian fugitive former businessman and former Member of Parliament, who is subject of an extradition effort by the government to return him from the UK to face charges of financial crimes in India.
For the uninitiated, Ranjit Barot is a longtime associate of AR Rahman, who English musician John McLaughlin, pioneer of jazz fusion, once called "one of the leading edges in drumming".?
It's not the first time that someone has been confused with Mallya's doppelganger. In 2018, Virat Kohli was spotted with Vijay Mallya's look-alike.?Kohli was seen lying his hands on the shoulders of Mallya, but soon people realised that the man in the picture only resembled Mallya and wasn't Mallya himself.?

Meanwhile, Vijay Mallya, former owner of Royal Challengers Banglore (RCB) in a recent post revealed why he bid for Virat Kohli and the team in the initial days. "When I bid for the RCB franchise, and I bid for Virat, my inner instinct told me that I could not have made better choices. My inner instinct tells me that RCB have the best chance to go for the IPL Trophy. Onward and Upward. Best of luck."
Mallya acquired the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2008. However, following his loan defaults and departure from India, the IPL franchise informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2016 that he had resigned as the Director of Royal Challengers Sports Private Limited (RCSPL).
