Actor Vijay Varma is among the Indian celebrities who will be attending the Cannes Film Festival 2023 in France.?
If reports are to be believed, the actor will be marking his presence at the red-carpet event after 10 long years.?
Recalling his first appearance at Cannes, Vijay Varma revealed that at the time he could only afford a Zara jacket and designers rejected him.?
But, it was a friend who gifted him a Zara suit which he wore to the event.?
During a conversation with Film Companion, Vijay Varma recalled his Cannes debut in 2013 and revealed that he was able to afford only a Zara jacket.?
¡°But for the main event, for two events, they said you have to wear the whole suit. And I went to people, saying, ¡®Can some designer come, can some stylist help me out?¡¯ And they said, ¡®Who¡¯s Vijay Varma? We don¡¯t want to dress anybody,¡± the actor was quoted as saying.?
The actor, who stunned fans with his performance opposite Alia Bhatt in Darlings also revealed that ii was his friend who helped him during the crisis.?
¡°Then a friend of mine gifted me a pair of Zara suit that I wore for the morning photo fall, and then somebody stitched me a pair of Tuxedo. And when I saw the pictures, I thought I looked fine. I got enchanted by my own self and when I revisited those photos I was like yaa, I look like Marwari Johnny Depp a little bit," Vijay added.?
Meanwhile, Vijay took to his social media account to express his gratitude to his fans for showing their love on his latest outing Dahaad.
He wrote, "Thank you for such a thunderous response for Dahaad.. I cannot possibly reply to all who messaged me across several apps.. so here I am to show all my gratitude. I share your love with the cast n crew."?
Dahaad is a mystery crime thriller revolving around a series of deaths of women in public bathrooms. The web series stars Sonakshi Sinha as lady police officer 'Anjali Bhaati' who leads the investigations.
Vijay Varma plays the character of Anand Swarnakar and Gulshan Devaiah is seen portraying the character of SHO Devi Lal Singh in the latest web series.?
