J-Hope, also known as Hobi, is now a civilian! The BTS member was discharged on Thursday, October 17, after completing his mandatory service in the South Korean military. He is the second member of the wildly popular K-pop band to be discharged, following the eldest member Jin. Visuals of the BTS hyungs' adorable exchange have now taken over our social media feeds as distressed ARMYs finally find a moment to rejoice following band member SUGA's DUI controversy.
Before stepping out to greet the press, the Chicken Noodle Soup?singer was seen taking a deep breath. As J-Hope walked through the Army Division in his military uniform for the one last time,?he was warmly welcomed by Jin with a bouquet and hug. Other BTS members Jimin, V, Suga, RM and Jungkook, who are currently serving their mandatory service, were not present during the festivities.?
Jin finally has some company. In a display of his profound happiness upon his fellow band member's discharge, Jin, whose real name is Kim Seok Jin, held J-hope, born as Jung Ho-Seok, in a tight embrace before offering him a bouquet. He also went down on his knees to hold news channels' microphones for him, allowing J-hope to formally greet the media. Hobi saluted the camera personnel before excusing himself to reunite with his team and family. Fans were happy to see the 2 Seoks' reunion.?
The news of J-hope's discharge from military training was confirmed by BigHit Music earlier this week. The agency requested fans to refrain from visiting the military station to avoid chaos.
The statement read, "Hello. This is BIGHIT MUSIC. We are excited to bring you the news of J-Hope's upcoming military discharge. J-Hope is close to completing his active service in the army and will soon be discharged. Discharge day is a day shared by many service members."
BIGHIT Music expressed their gratitude, stating, "No special events are planned on the day of J-Hope's discharge. To prevent any issues arising from overcrowding, fans are strongly advised to refrain from visiting the site. Please convey your warm regards and encouragement in your hearts. We are always grateful for your unwavering love and support for j-hope. Our company will continue to put our utmost effort into supporting our artists. Thank you once again for your continued love and support for BTS."
On October 16, just hours before his return, J-hope dropped a special message. Taking to Instagram Stories, he simply wrote, 'D-1.' Hobi has been counting the days leading up to his discharge from the military. The BTS member had posted a similar message when he was left with 100 days of military service.
