Indian Winners At Grammys 2024: At the 2024 Grammy Awards, Indian musicians made us proud. February 4 marked the 66th Grammy Awards ceremony. On Monday, Indian artists Shankar Mahadevan and Zakir Hussain's fusion group "Shakti" won the Grammy for "Best Global Music Album." For their most recent album, "This Moment," they received the honor.?
Taking to X, Grammys shared the post and wrote, "Congrats Best Global Music Album winner - 'This Moment' Shakti. #GRAMMYs."
Along with Edgar Meyer, Bela Fleck, and renowned flute player Rakesh Chaurasia, Zakir Hussain won the Grammy for "Best Global Music Performance" for his work on "Pashto." Chaurasia received two Grammys that evening, while Hussain won three.
In his speech, Mahadevan said, ¡°Thank you boys. Thank you God, family, friends, and India. India, we are proud of you¡Last but not the least, I would like to dedicate this award to my wife whom every note of my music is dedicated to.¡±
Eight songs by John McLaughlin (guitar synth), Zakir Hussain (tabla), Shankar Mahadevan (singer), V Selvaganesh (percussionist), and Ganesh Rajagopalan (violinist) are included in the album "This Moment," which was released on June 30 of last year. Along with performers including Susana Baca, Bokante, Burna Boy, and Davido, they received Grammy nominations.
