Just one day after postponing several shows, Justin Bieber took to his social media account to share his struggle with a severe virus.?Bieber shared a video where he shares that he is battling a serious virus that left the right side of his face paralyzed.?He also asked his fans to give him time off to work on getting better.
Beiber said he'd been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which has affected a nerve in his ear, causing paralysis.
He starts the video by saying,?Hey everyone Justin here, I wanted to update you guys on what's been going on'?
The 28-year-old pop star took to his Instagram to share a detailed three-minute video explaining the diagnosis?
'Obviously, as you can probably see with my face. I have this syndrome called Ramsay Hunt syndrome and it is from this virus that attacks the nerves in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis."
Bieber adds that the whole thing is "pretty serious" and that he'll need to take an undetermined amount of time off to work on recovering.?
"So there is full paralysis on this side of my face. So for those who are frustrated by my cancellations of the next shows, I'm just physically obviously not capable of doing them. This is pretty serious as you can see.?I wish this wasn't the case but obviously, my body is telling me that I've got to slow down and I hope you guys understand. I will be using this time to rest and relax and get back to 100 percent so that I can do what I was born to do."
Updating his fans on his recovery process, Boeber said he is doing facial exercises, but it might need time to get back to being healthy.?Justin's Justice World Tour kicked off in February but had to see unforeseen changes after both he and Hailey Bieber contracted COVID-19.
