Liam Payne, a former member of boyband One Direction, has died after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, according to police there. He was 31. Shocking details related to events leading up to his death have now come to the fore. Among the many chilling details was a 911 call before his demise that suggests the pop star may have been under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
As per Buenos Aires police, personnel from the 14B Police Station went to the hotel on Wednesday afternoon after receiving a 911 call about an "aggressive man" who was possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The police didn't identify the man as Payne, but per a TMZ report, the Teardrop crooner was escorted back to his room after he 'smashed his laptop' in the hotel lobby.
The details of the 911 call from the hotel manager to the police have been aired by an Argentine news channel. It has the owner/manager saying, "We have a guest who is on drugs and is destroying the whole room, so we need someone to come." "When he is conscious, he is destroying the entire room, and we need you to send someone," the worker said, stressing that the guest's life could potentially be in danger as their room had a balcony.
The hotel manager informed the police after hearing a loud noise at the back of the hotel. The police arrived to find that the British singer had fallen over the balcony in his room. He was declared dead on the spot, per police's statement.
Payne's last public sighting in Argentina had him cheering at bandmate Niall Horan¡¯s concert on October 2, as seen in viral social media video. Before heading for Argentina with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, Liam had shared on social media that he aims to square things up with Niall during his Argentina trip. The mini One Direction reunion had set the internet abuzz with rumours of potential collaboration on the cards. Payne's untimely death has now devastated Directioners.
