In a significant turn of events amidst a torrent of lawsuits, Sean "Diddy" Combs has achieved a small victory in court as a judge reprimanded federal agents accused of leaking sensitive information regarding the mogul's sex trafficking investigation. Currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn, Diddy has faced denial of bail on two separate occasions.
The court's reprimand of federal agents came in light of disturbing revelations made by The Post, which shared a cache of documents and photos shedding light on Diddy's alleged "freak-offs." One federal law enforcement source reportedly described these incidents in unflattering terms, labeling them as "sick sh**," leading the court to implement a gag order.
On Friday, Manhattan federal judge Arun Subramanian issued the gag order, targeting all federal prosecutors and officials involved in the case. The order mandates that these individuals refrain from disclosing any grand jury deliberations or non-public information that could compromise the integrity of the trial. Judge Subramanian emphasized the importance of adhering to existing legal standards regarding information dissemination.
The judge pointed out the impropriety of remarks made by agents connected to the case, highlighting that this order does not imply any wrongdoing has been established so far. He stressed, ¡°The point of this order is to help ensure that nothing happens from now on that would interfere with a fair trial,¡± asserting that the court would take necessary actions against any violations of this directive.
Earlier in the month, Diddy's legal team sought a hearing to address allegations that agents from the Department of Homeland Security had leaked compromising footage from 2016, purportedly showing Diddy assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, in a hotel corridor. This upcoming hearing aims to prevent further media leaks regarding the criminal case.
Diddy has pleaded not guilty to all the lawsuits against him and is awaiting trial, which is set for May 5, 2025.
