In the photo that instantly went viral on social media, Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt can be seen hanging from the top of a biplane that is flying while he is flipped upside down.? ?
"This is far and away the most dangerous thing I've attempted," he said and added, "I wanted to do it since I was a little kid". But making this childhood dream come true has proved costly, considering this stunt and others like it had to be pulled off in the midst of a globe-rattling pandemic, reports variety.com.
Talking about Top Gun: Maverick, the 59-year-old actor told HELLO! magazine, "All I ever wanted to be was a pilot or an actor, so ¡®Top Gun¡¯ was a huge moment in so many respects, including my passion for aviation."
Furthermore, he gushed, "It was life-changing for me.?I got to actually fly in an F-14 jet which was a dream come true, and play a character I loved in Maverick."
For the latest movie in the blockbuster series, Top Gun: Maverick he got to do more plane stunts than ever before.?Cruise said, "The P-51 Mustang you see in the movie is actually my plane, so I got to pilot in those sequences. I also got to be in the jet fighter a lot more this time, which was thrilling. It was something I had been working up to."??
Apart from Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, and Frederick Schmidt will return in their respective roles. New addition to the cast include Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Shea Whigham, Esai Morales,?Rob Delaney, and Cary Elwes.
