Nana Patekar Gets Clean Chit In #MeToo Case, Tanushree Dutta Blames 'Corrupt Legal System'

It all started with Tanushree Dutta and her one explosive interview. The woman who kickstarted the #MeToo movement in India is not only upset but is angry currently because the police closed the sexual harassment case against Nana Patekar giving him a clean chit because of lack of evidence.

Mumbai police have filed a B Summary report, giving a clean chit to Nana Patekar, in connection with actor Tanushree Dutta sexual harassment case, according to PTI.

A 'B Summary' report is filed when the police are unable to find evidence in support of the complaint filed and hence decides to discontinue the investigation.

Reacting to this, Tanushree Dutta said, “A corrupt police force and legal system giving a clean chit to an even more corrupt person Nana who has been accused even in the past of bullying, intimidation and harassment by several women in the film Industry.”

Tanushree?Dutta’s lawyer Nitin?Satpute said that they are going to file a writ petition before Bombay High Court opposing the same.

“I have not received any official information from Oshiwara police station about classification of offense (Summary Report) from police on behalf of Tanushree Dutta, if? police files any B or C classification of summery Report, that cannot be final, we can oppose before court and after hearing if court satisfies then again it can be directed police to reinvestigation or Further investigations. Police acted negligently to protect Nana Patekar, many witnesses statement not yet recorded, one Shyni Shetty statement recorded partly, police have not investigated properly so we are opposing summary reports and also going to file a writ petition before Bombay High Court,” he said in a statement.
