Nimrat Kaur had penned a long note on Instagram a couple of days back, addressing those who trolled her for gaining weight. The actress had put on a few kilos for playing the role of Bimla in Abhishek Bachchan-starrer Dasvi. The actress, in her note, had shared that people often commented on her weight-gain and how it made her feel.?
Responding to the question, she said, "Frankly, it was so much of trolls that I was referring to. That didn't happen to me. It was something that I experienced personally in day-to-day life. I am referring to people who were around me when I was gaining weight or had gained weight, not those who are hiding behind their gadgets. These are people whose minds have been conditioned in a manner that makes them feel that woh kisi ko bhi kuch bhi bol sakte hain whether it is on someone's body or looks or even food habits. It is as if they have a right to everyone's personal space, and don't realise the sanctity of what is right and what is wrong. No basic courtesy."
She said, "I had a problem with unsolicited comments. I felt so sad and sorry for people who are not born with unconventional height, looks, bodies, or skin colour. A lot of personal awareness is the need of the hour. We can't go and tell anything to anybody just because we have access to them."
The actress had concluded the note by writing that people should 'mind their own business' and should not make 'someone's day worse if they can't make it better'.?She wrote, "Be kind. Be sensitive. Be graceful. Don't make someone's day worse if you can't make it better. Be responsible. Make only your mind and body your business. No one else's."
Nimrat played the role of Bimla, Abhishek Bachchan's on-screen wife in the film and won hearts with her performance. Dasvi also starred Yami Gautam in a pivotal role.
