The world stood still when the horrific incident on 16th December 2012 broke out. A girl who was heading back home after a movie was brutally raped several times on a moving bus. She soon passed away leaving the nation scarred.
Yes, we are talking about the Nirbhaya rape case that left the country shocked beyond belief. Since that year, Nirbhaya's parents have been battling for justice against the rapist.
After several years on Jan 7, 2020,?a death warrant was finally issued for the Nirbhaya rapists by a Delhi court. After many candlelight marches and peaceful protests, we all sighed in relief. However, in the midst of this, senior advocate Indira Jaising urged Nirbhaya's mother to pardon the men on death row who have been convicted for the rape of her daughter.
During the promotion of her film Panga, Kangana was asked about her views on Indira Jaising's remark.?
Lashing out, Kangana said,?"That lady (Jaising) should be kept in jail with those convicts for four days...Women like them give birth to these kind of monsters and murderers."
Supporting Kangana's statement on this, Nirbhaya's mother said,? "I agree with Kangana Ranaut's statement. I am glad she has reacted to this disgusting remark by Indira Jaising. I am a mother and all I want is justice for my daughter who passed away 7 years back. People like Indira Jaising run 'human rights' business and only support the culprits."
Nirbhaya died on December 29, 2012 at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore.?
