Sky Force box office verdict:? Sky Force, which hit the screens on January 25, opened to a decent response at the box office and received positive reviews from critics. It then witnessed limited growth over the weekend before slowing down. The film¡¯s run is now over and the box office verdict is out.?
Akshay Kumar, one of Bollywood¡¯s most popular names, had a forgettable 2024 as films such as Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Khel Khel Mein bombed at the box office. Sky Force, his first release of the year, was billed as a potential game-changer for him because of its patriotic undertones. However, the film has not lived up to expectations at the box office. According to Manobala Vijayabalan, a trade analyst, it grossed only Rs 149 crore in India in its lifetime even though tickets could be purchased for as low as Rs 20 crore using discount codes
¡°Sky force grossed ?149 cr in India. Out of which 30 to 50% was the contribution from offers of free tickets across the nation,¡± he told Indiatimes.?
Going by this, it has fared better than Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Khel Khel Mein. The actioner earned Rs 78 crore (approx) during its full run. Similarly, The comedy drama grossed Rs 47 crore in India. This, however, is hardly an achievement as these films were commercial failures. Moreover, Sky Force¡¯s performance doesn¡¯t do justice to its 160 crore budget.??
¡°This film is a LOSS venture, as it couldn't recover the costs at the box office,¡± added Manobala.?
Komal Nahta, another trade analyst too said that the film could have done better.?
¡°It was a good film but it did not get the kickstart it needed,¡± he told Indiatimes.?
According to Sacnilk, a trade website, Sky Force earned Rs 12.25 crore (nett) on the first day. This was a decent start given the dull initial response films such as Khel Khel Mein (Rs 5 crore) and Sarfira (Rs 2.5 crore). It, however, was lower than the opening day figure of Sooryavanshi (Rs 27 crore) and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan? (Rs 15.65 crore) . Moreover, the film could not recover from the moderate start. Deva, which arrived in theatres on January 31, further added to its worries.?
Sky Force is an action thriller, inspired by real-life events. It features Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya, and Sara Ali Khan in the lead. It is directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani. Tanishq Bagchi is the music composer.?
