Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha were spotted enjoying cycling at the iconic Kartavya Path near India Gate in Delhi on Tuesday morning.?
Amid the severe air quality levels in the national capital, with the air quality levels (AQI) nearly touching the 500 mark, the video of the couple on a cycle ride has gone viral on social media. As soon as the video surfaced on the internet, it left netizens in complete shock!

Praineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha¡¯s cycling video has sparked criticism among fans. An Instagram user wrote, ¡°Is this lovely AQI?¡±, the other comment read, ¡°Jab ek aam admi itne jayda AQI me bhi Delhi me apni biwi k sath cycle chala sakta hai..to AAP kyu nahi..¡±, while another read, ¡°Inke kapde pollution se black ho gaye kya...¡±.?
While some commented showing their concern, "They are beating pollution vibes," while another one wrote, ¡°Itne high AQI me cycling is just not recommended!! Take care of urselves!"?
On Tuesday, the air quality index in Delhi remained in the ' severe plus' category for the second consecutive day, with an AQI for the last 24 hours standing at 488. Amid such an alarming condition, when Delhi is choking with AQI levels over 30 times the maximum level, the comments raise a serious question on whether it is safe to go on morning walks or workouts.?
The answer is no. According to Dr. Renu Soni, Consultant-Pulmonologist, NIIMS Medical College, Greater Noida, morning walks or cycling are beneficial for your overall health, but during such environmental conditions, it is not recommended to step out until required. Toxic air pollutants like fine particulate matter (PM2.5) are generally high during the morning hours due to cool temperatures and less wind.?
¡°These particles can enter the human body through the lungs, leading to breathing issues and conditions like asthma or bronchitis,¡± she adds.?
If stepping out is unavoidable, then individuals must consider using an N95 mask for protection. On the other hand, Dr. Shrey Srivastav, Senior Consultant, Sharda Hospital, Greater Noida, warns that air pollution poses a higher risk of heart conditions.
He says, ¡°Inhaling polluted air raises the risk of inflammation in the lungs and blood vessels that leads to a higher risk of heart attacks and strokes.¡±
While regular walks are important for your both physical and mental health, stepping out during high pollution levels can be detrimental. It is always better to check the AQI levels before stepping out and adapt your fitness routine to ensure you stay healthy without exposing yourself to unnecessary risks.?
However, actress Parineeti Chopra on Monday signed with an agency in London and revealed that she is going to expand her artistic horizons soon.?
