Ponman box office prediction day 1: Ponman, one of the most talked about films of Basil Joseph’s career, hit the screens today (January 30) much to the delight of fans. The underdog saga has created a buzz with its intriguing trailer. Moreover, the good response to Basil’s recent releases too has worked in its favour. These factors are expected to help Ponman open to a decent response at the box office.?

According to Manobala Vijayabalan, a trade analyst, it is expected to collect less than Rs 5 crore in India on the first day. He added that Ponman might spring a surprise if the story connects with the audience.

“Ponman is expected to take less than ?5 cr opening at the India Box Office. Basil Joseph and Jothish Shankar combo with a good story might favour the film for positive response,” he told Indiatimes.

This is his first release after Pravinkoodu Shappu, which hit the screens on January 16 and received mixed reviews from critics.?
