The Indian badminton team made history winning the Thomas Uber Cup 2022 defeating 14-time champions Indonesia in Bangkok on Sunday, May 15 in three straight matches scoring 3-0.?
With this India marks its first ever Thomas Cup win. Celebrating the euphoric moment, Bollywood celebrities including R Madhavan, Taapsee Pannu, Anil Kapoor, SS Rajamouli and others took to social media to hail the Indian badminton team and congratulate them for their historic achievement.?
Sharing the pictures as the team celebrated the win, actor Anil Kapoor tweeted, "This is incredible!! Congratulations to #TeamIndia!! Historic moment!!" while R Madhavan wrote, "Historic title triumph: India stun Indonesia 3-0 to win Thomas Cup¡ ohhhhhh Yeahhhhh" and ended his tweet with a couple of joining hand, thumbs up emojis and Indian flag emojis.?
Pink actress?Taapsee Pannu tweeted, "History!!!! India wins Thomas cup the first time they reached finals !!! Take a bow boys !!!" while actor Riteish Deshmukh also tool to his official Twitter account to share, "#ThomasCup2022 What an extraordinary achievement for Team India. beating 14 times champions Indonesia 3-0 in the finals. Congratulations to the entire team- prayers, coaches, support staff and the entire Indian contingent (sic)."?

South actor Rana Daggubati also congratulated the team on Twitter saying, "It¡¯s just too amazing!! Congratulations to the Indian Badminton team #ThomasCup2022." On the other hand, actor Venkatesh Daggubati posted a photo of the Indian team and alongside it he wrote, "Congratulations to the Indian badminton team on the extraordinary win #ThomasCup is coming home!" The whole country is praising the team for their effort. Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone's father and Indian badminton legend Prakash Padukone said that this was the finest team to represent India. The 1972 Arjuna Award winner also underlined the focus and dedication that is put into creating a champion team, according to?TOI?reports.
The Indian men's badminton team included?Lakshya Sen, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty and Kidambi Srikanth, who scripted history winning their first-ever Thomas Cup gold?at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.??
Speaking of their achievement, ace badminton star Lakshya Sen was quoted as saying, "It's a very big day (for any badminton player). India has never won the Thomas Cup before. This is a big achievement for India, because we have won the World Championship for badminton team events. It is like a World Cup. It will be a motivation for the future generations."
