It has been over 20 days that Anupam Kher-starrer The Kashmir Files hit the silver screens but the talk around the film refuses to die down. Set in the 1990s, the film has evolved to become some sort of a movement to remind the world about the sufferings of the Kashmiri Pandits, who were driven out of their homes during that time.?
The UAE has now cleared the film with zero cuts and has given it a suitable for 15+ rating.?
Director Vivek Agnihotri called the move a 'big victory' and announced the UAE release date of the film.??The Kashmir Files will hit the silver screens in the country on April 7.
Earlier, in an interview, Vivek Agnihotri had revealed how The Kashmir Files was banned in certain countries including the UAE and Singapore. From his tweet, looks like the actor is working towards getting the ban on film lifted in Singapore as well.?
Vivek Agnihotri wrote on Twitter, "Our @i_ambuddha Foundation & @kp_global were working to build a Genocide Museum. Today, when I requested @ChouhanShivraj ji about it, he instantly granted land & logistical support. This will be fully funded by us & the people. It will be a symbol of Humanity.
"On behalf of all Kashmiri Hindus and all persecuted people, I thanks Hon CM?@ChouhanShivraj?for his prompt decision and support. We want this Genocide Museum to showcase Indian values of Humanity and Vishwa kalyan. This museum will also showcase how terrorism destroys humanity."
