Mammotty is one of the biggest and most popular names in the Malayalam film industry. The mass hero is loved by many because of his striking screen presence and electrifying performances. The Megastar is also known to be very picky about the films he gives the green signal to. And, Allu Aravind¨C one of Telugu cinema¡¯s biggest producers¨Conce learned this first hand when he offered him a negative role in one of his films.?
Allu Aravind, the producer of films such as Magadheera and Geetha Govindam, is a force to reckon with in Tollywood. A few years ago, he graced the Telugu promotions of Mammootty¡¯s Mamangam (2019) and opened up about a past meeting with the National Award winner. Allu Aravind recalled that he wanted Mammootty to essay a negative role in a film, starring Pawan Kalyan.?
Things, however, did not work out as the Big B star rejected the offer. Allu Aravind then recalled that Mammootty asked him if he could offer the same part to Chiranjeevi, which made him realise that role wasn¡¯t suitable for someone of his stature.?
While Allu Aravind did not name the film, many felt he was referring to Jalsa. The 2008 action drama was directed by Trivikram Srinivas and emerged as? a massive commercial success.?
Coming back to Mammootty, he is in the limelight because of Dominic and The Ladies Purse. The film is directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and hit the screens on January 23. Mammootty will next be seen in Bazooka, slated to release in theatres in February.
