International Women’s Day 2025: Government Initiatives for Women?

Apart from the Padma Awards, the Indian government has started many programs to support and empower women.

• Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (2015): This yojana helps stop gender discrimination and improve the number of girls in society.
• Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana: It gives free LPG (cooking gas) connections to poor families.
• Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana: It provides cash support to pregnant and new mothers for their health and well-being.
• Kishori Shakti Yojana: This yojana helps teenage girls stay healthy and develop important life skills.

On International Women's Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited women to share their inspiring life stories.
