Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 2 Voting April 26: The 2nd phase of voting for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 is scheduled for April 26. Wednesday marked the end of campaigning for political parties, with both the BJP and the Congress wrapping up their rallies for this phase. Voting for 89 seats across 13 states will be held in the second phase on April 26 (Friday).
The Lok Sabha election 2024 will span seven phases, commencing on April 19 and continuing on April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1. Vote counting will take place on June 4, according to the timetable announced by the Election Commission of India.
Among the major states going to the polls in this round are Assam (5), Bihar (5), Chhattisgarh (3), Karnataka (14), Kerala (20), Madhya Pradesh (7), Maharashtra (8), Uttar Pradesh (8), Rajasthan (13), and West Bengal (3). After the second phase, the elections will be over in Kerala and Rajasthan. Voting for 12 seats in Rajasthan was held in the first phase on April 19.

In phase 2 voting, Uttar Pradesh, another significant state, will see voting for eight seats. These seats include Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Aligarh, Mathura, and Bulandshahr. Notably, Ram Arun Govil, known for his role as Ram in Ramayana, is contesting from Meerut, while actor Hema Malini is in the race from Mathura.

In the 2nd phase, Maharashtra is another state where elections will take place. Voting will be conducted for Buldhana, Akola, Amravati (SC), Wardha, Yavatmal-Washim, Hingoli, Nanded, and Parbhani. All attention will be on Amravati and Nanded.

In the second phase on April 26, Karnataka will see a contest for its 14 Lok Sabha seats. This phase will determine the electoral fate of prominent figures such as BJP's Tejasvi Surya, former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, DK Shivakumar's brother DK Suresh, and royal scion Yaduveer Wadiyar. DK Suresh is the second wealthiest candidate, while the Congress candidate from Mandya holds the distinction of being the richest candidate in phase two, with assets exceeding Rs 600 crores.
In Chhattisgarh, voting will take place for Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund, and Kanker. The spotlight will be on Rajnandgaon, where former chief minister and Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel is contesting against Santosh Pandey of the BJP. The BJP has held this seat since 2009.
