As the holidays approach and homes are decked out in holiday splendour, a humorous Christmas optical illusion has gained a lot of attention.?Eight candy canes are?cleverly?hidden among the branches of a decorated tree, daring onlookers to hone their visual skills and go on a joyous hunt.?
That sounds simple enough, but the really difficult part is that they have to all be located in under 10 seconds.?Standing out against a winter wonderlandscape, the decorated tree is visually busy with its garland, ornaments, white angels and red horses.
Just 50% of participants in the test population were able to complete the puzzle in ten seconds or less; see if you can do any better.?Setting up a plan might be the best course of action before taking on the challenge.
Hint: although the candy canes lack colour, they still have that traditional red-striped appearance.
Try approaching the image with a plan rather than just gazing at it as a whole; either scan the tree top-down or bottom-up.
Beginning at the top, hook the first candy cane on the bottom right of the snowball that covers the tree's tip.?The cane after that is centred on the tree and has two strings of garland hanging from it.
Two more candy canes nestled above and below a large liver-shaped patch of snow are hidden beneath the next string of garlands.?There are two more garland strings below, and next to a white ornament with a pattern, there's a candy cane concealed beneath a big mound of snow.
Another candy cane hangs off a tree spike in that same section of the tree to the far right.
Right off the centre, and directly on top of the next garland string, is where you'll find the seventh candy cane.?The final candy is located on the bottom left of the tree, just above the snow, with the end of the cane brushing it.
