Speaking more about the hearing loss, Dr. Minal says, "Cochlea inside inner ear has tiny hair called stereocilia. These convert vibrations from sound waves into neural signals that auditory nerve carries to brain. Exposure to loud noise especially above 85 decibel can cause SNHL. Hearing loss is experienced only after 50. if stereocilia gets damaged. Severity varies from mild to moderate to severe."
"The biggest takeaway from Alkya Yagnik's hearing loss is to always keep your head phone volume below 60 for 60 minutes and wear ear plugs on exposure to loud sounds", Doctor Minal concludes.
