Triptii Dimri is going above and beyond to promote her upcoming movie Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Voh Wala Video along with co-star Rajkummar Rao. Sharing photos from a recent event, Triptii wowed us with her stylish floral dress. However, when we got the first look at the dress, it seemed eerily familiar. After some internet sleuthing, we realised this is the same dress which Deepika Padukone wore during a promotional event for her film Pathaan, last year in January, just in a different colour. Let's take a closer look at this fashion face-off and see who wore the midi better.
Designed by designer duo Gauri & Nainika, the dress comes in multiple shade ranges. For her event, Deepika opted for a multi-coloured variant which was decorated with vibrant pink, orange, yellow and red flowers on its bodice. The sleeveless, calf-length dress features a structured bodice which distends into a full-blown ballgown-style skirt. Deepika's dress featured a plunging neckline which added extra oomph to her look.
The Singham Again actress paired her dress with black slingback heels from the luxury label Christian Louboutin and accessorised it with dazzling drop earrings. She completed her look with her signature full glam makeup which included dramatic smokey eyeshadow, blushed cheeks and pink lip shade and styled her hair with a ton of hair gel to give it a wet-like look.
Triptii on the other hand went more subtle with her choice of shade as well as the neckline. Her dress featured a simple round neckline with broad straps and was decorated with bright red flowers and green leaves on the black fabric. While both Triptii and Deepika's dress featured the same structured bodice with a flared skirt, Triptii's dress had pockets!
The Animal actress also styled her dress with black slingback Christian Louboutin heels which were extremely similar to that of Deepika. But it was her makeup, accessories and hairstyle which gave a glimpse into the star's unique personal style.
She paired the dress with statement red and gold-hued earrings and went with a half-up-half-down hairstyle after straightening her luscious locks. Her centre-parted, half-bun added a retro touch to the look, to stay in the theme for her movie which is set in the '90s.
She completed her look with expertly applied makeup featuring a flawless base, dramatic winged eyeliner and a bold red lip to match her floral dress.
Since both the actresses added their own touch to the stylish dress, we find it very hard to compare the looks better. However, when a paparazzi account re-shared the duo's photos on their Instagram, Deepika Padukone seemed to be their favourite. Many fans commented that no one is comparable to the new mother while others acknowledged that both the actresses looked amazing.
