Mehmood Akhtar, a Pakistani High Commission official, who was arrested by Delhi police for alleged espionage has been asked to leave the country.?
The decision was made considering the diplomatic immunity he had, due to which he was let of by the police after brief interrogation.
Police said Akhtar was the kingpin of a Pakistani spy racket for one-and-a-half years and was under scrutiny for over six months.
Akhtar, who was a havildar in Baloch regiment of Pakistan army, was later hired by ISI and was working in visa department in the High Commission from where he operated the spy network.
Delhi joint commissioner of police, Ravindra Yadav, said Akhtar in the initial interrogation said he is an Indian citizen and also showed a fake Aadhaar card. ?

Two other spies, both from Rajasthan, have also been arrested for allegedly leaking the documents to Akhtar.
Defence deployment, BSF deployment maps, visa related documents were recovered from them.
