A three-year-old boy with travel history to Italy, a couple returning from Dubai and a Delhi man who had been in touch with the PayTm employee with coronavirus have been found positive for the novel virus.
With these new cases, the total count of positive coronavirus cases has reached 46.
Seven more people tested postive since Sunday - two in Pune, one each Kerala's Ernakulam, Delhi, Amritsar, UP and Jammu. The count spiked late Monday after a Pune couple, who had returned from Dubai on March 1, tested positive. Forty-three cases are currently active while three have been discharged.
As of March 9, a total of 11,913 cases are under Integrated Disease Surveillance program (IDSP) community follow-up.
A new case of Covid-19 was reported from Agra in Uttar Pradesh on March 9. This was the second such case reported from the state after a bus driver in Agra tested positive for coronavirus earlier this month.
Punjab and Karnataka along with the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported their first case of Covid-19 on Monday.
One more case was reported from the national capital on Monday. As of yet, four people have tested positive for the infection in Delhi.
One of Indian Air Force¡¯s C-17 Globemasters was on Monday evening flown to Tehran in order to evacuate Indians stranded in coronavirus-affected Iran. The airplane returned with 54 Indians.
