VivekanandaAnil Yoge of Maharashtra Security Force, who helped actor Shabana Azmi when shemet with a major road accident on Mumbai-Pune Expressway has been presented with abravery award by Life Saving Foundation. Joint Commissioner of Police RavindraShisve presented the award to the soldier.
On January18,?Azmiwas severely injured in an accident?near Khalapur toll plaza on theexpressway.
Yoge wasonly a kilometre away when the accident took place and rushed to the spot tohelp the victims.
¡°TheMaharashtra security force has 117 jawans posted on the expressway in threeshifts to deal with emergency situations. Retired Inspector ChandrakantJagalpure is leading the team. The foundation felicitated him as well forkeeping the morale of his team high,¡± stated a press release issued by the PuneCity Police.
Azmisuffered head injuries when her car met with an accident. Her husband JavedAkhtar was also there in the vehicle but escaped unhurt.
