The income tax department has found that the Noida Authority¡¯s assistant project engineer Brijpal Singh has 25 properties, 5 SUVs and two families in Noida and Faridabad. The total cost of properties would be around Rs 200 crore spread in NCR.
Amrinder Kumar, principal director, income tax department¡¯s investigation wing (Kanpur), said that the IT sleuths had seized Rs 8 lakh cash from the premises. ¡°We have found 25 properties in Noida, Faridabad, Modinagar, Pilakhua, etc. He owned five SUVs, including a Jaguar, Mercedez Benz, Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Creta, etc. all having VIP numbers ending in 6666,¡± Kumar said.

Kumar said Singh has two families ¨C one in Noida and one in Faridabad. ¡°His wife, two sons and a daughter live in Noida Sector 27 bungalow. His another wife, two sons and a daughter live in another house in Faridabad. Both the sets of children have the same names,¡± he said.?
The income tax department will file a report in this regard to the government upon which action will be taken.

Singh was also the president of Noida Employees Association in the early 1990s and is known for strong political and social networks. It is also alleged he facilitated contracts of development works to his acquaintances.
He had joined the government services as a junior engineer in 1981. However, he did not get any promotion for 20 years. In his entire career spanning around 38 years, he got one promotion and became assistant project engineer and he is due to retire in December 2018.
