On Friday, a group of 11-12 Dalit women complained to the district magistrate that two government employees living in the colony allegedly stopped them from offering prayers at the temple. These women are spouses of government employees and reside in the colony as well. The duo who stopped them are said to be clerks in government departments.
According to Somlata Devi, the Dalit woman leading the group, the two persons suddenly appeared at the spot when they were about to enter the temple premises and stopped them from going in to offer prayers. Feeling humiliated and enraged, the women approached the district magistrate, seeking his intervention in the matter.
