In a shocking incident of Delhi Police brutally attacking students, yet again, the protesters marching to the Parliament were stopped, beaten up and assaulted. The reports from the hospital where injured students are being treated suggest that women have injuries on their vaginas, with Delhi Police seemingly acting as a group of goons out on a rampage.
More than 10 students of the Jamia Millia Islamia who participated in an anti-CAA march towards Parliament, have been admitted to the Jamia Health Centre for injuries in their private parts, according to a report by India Today.
Speaking to India Today TV, the resident doctors at the health centre said that some of the students have been shifted to Al-Shifa hospital.
"More than 10 woman students have been hit on their private parts. We have found blunt injuries on some of the protesters," the doctors said.
On February 10, Jamia students attempted to cross a police picket and march to the Parliament to protest the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The scuffle broke when students started the march from the varsity¡¯s gate number 7, which has been the protest site since December 16, and were stopped near Holy Family Hospital.The students were carrying the Indian flag and anti-CAA placards. They attempted to cross the barricades and stood over them before police began their assault.
Talking to IANS, Safoora, one of the core members of Jamia Coordination Committee (JCC) claimed, "I was caught between 4 policemen who refused to budge even though they saw that I couldn't breathe at all and I was fainting...I fell down. I was between their legs for more than 5-6 minutes. They kept ignoring me."
"One of my friends found me...he saved me. I wouldn't be alive otherwise. When he begged them to give me space to breathe they kept taunting him. It was terrorising," she added.
The doctors who attended the injured students stated, "Most of the injured students have complained about being hit on the stomach, others have talked about severe neck pain due to dragging from the neck."
Answering on the claims that the students were hit on their private parts, the medical officer said, "No such complaints have been conveyed to us."
A senior varsity official said: "Though there was no baton-charge by Delhi Police but some instances of scuffle had left minor injuries to our students. Najma Ma'am went to see them."?

This isn¡¯t the first incident of police brutality against Jamia students. Over the past few months, the cops have been hostile towards students from certain universities, including the Jawaharlal Nehru University.
In December 2019, the police launched an attack on the students of Jamia and stormed the varsity, injuring hundreds of students. The recent incidents of attacks by Delhi police and their reluctance to stop the ongoing violence is not only hampering the law and order situation in the national capital but also taking away public¡¯s trust.
