Lok Sabha elections will begin on April 11 and will be conducted in seven phases with the last phase to be held on May 19. The counting will be done on May 23. 900 million people have been identified as eligible voters who will decide the fate of India.
However, it is imperative for these 90 crore Indians to vote. The number of voters has increased by 84.3 million for the upcoming elections as compared to the last one. Ten lakh polling booths will be set up across the country.

The incumbent and opposition parties are appealing to the voters to cast their vote which is imperative in ensuring fair and transparent outcome. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on twitter has been tagging prominent figures urging them to act as mediators in creating voting awareness.
In a unique campaign, a hospital in Jagdalpur city of Chhattisgarh is providing voters with prescriptions persuading them to vote. The forms at the Outpatient Department (OPD) are being stamped with a slogan appealing to voters to exercise their right.
The stamp reads, ¡°Vote daalne jaana hai, apna farz nibhaana hai¡±. The Maharani hospital has been chosen for this unique campaign witnesses 400 to 600 patients on a daily basis. The date of polling is also mentioned on the prescription.

Civil surgeon Dr Vivek Joshi told news agency ANI that the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program is being run at all government hospitals including primary health centres and community health centres of the district.
On March 26, the Raipur district administration organised a cricket match and a tug of war SVEEP campaign. The tournament was named as the Raipur Vote Cricket tournament. A women bike rally was also organised in the maoist-infested state.
The initiative was announced after Maoists threatened to create unrest and boycott the upcoming general elections. Chhattisgarh will go to polling in three phases on April 11, April 18 and April 23.
