The survivor nun who is battling her case alone, in a letter to the apostolic nuncio of Vatican, Giambattista Diquattro, wrote that ¡°Bishop Franco always had an eagle¡¯s eye on the sisters of Missionaries of Jesus congregation and whichever sisters he felt attracted to, he tried to trap them by force or taking advantage of their weakness¡±.
The letter was sent on September 8 and was leaked on Tuesday.
She asked the nuncio, who is the representative of Pope Francis, to intervene in the issue urgently.
Bishop Franco Mullakal
She alleged that the Church showed double standard in dealing with the issues of the sisters and priests. She said that according to her own experience, she felt that the Church is a stepmother to the women and priests.
She alleged that bishop Franco Mulakkal was using his political influence the higher officials in the police and the state government.

In the letter, she wrote that she had written a complaint with the police two months ago and no action was taken against the bishop due to his influence.
The Missionaries of Jesus congregation condemned the protests by five nuns in Kerala, who are seeking justice for the fellow nun. The congregation also called the nun¡¯s allegations against the Bishop "baseless" and said they "cannot crucify an innocent", drawing flak.
