A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the ongoing nationwide lockdown will continue till May 3, the Union Home Ministry has issued the guidelines under which there will some relaxation, allowing some activities to resume.?
Union Ministry of Home Affairs has issued the order to all States and UTs in this regard.?
According to the order, with the extension of the lockdown, all restrictions that have been imposed in various sectors, and on various activities, will continue to remain in force.?
According to the MHA guidelines, travel by air, rail and road, operation of educational and training institutions, industrial and commercial activities, hospitality services, cinema halls and shopping complexes will remain closed.?
All social, political and other events and opening of all religious places will also remain closed till the time the lockdown is in force.?
However, post April 20, some of the sectors have been allowed to resume operations.?The ministry has made it clear that the exemptions for industries/businesses that will resume after April 20 are not applicable in COVID-19 hotspots or containment zones.

Industries operating in rural areas are permitted to resume work, but they need to strictly practise social distancing norms.

Highway 'dhabas', truck repairing shops, and call centres for government activities shall remain open.?
Manufacturing units of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, construction of medical infrastructure will also remain open.?
The supply of milk, milk products, poultry and livestock farming and tea, coffee and rubber plantations will resume.
Grocery stores, fruit, vegetables shops or carts, milk booths, poultry, meat and fish shops shall remain open.
All health services and the social sector to remain functional?
