Ok let's be honest, unless you are living under a rock, you will be aware of the coronavirus outbreak. The disease that originated in Wuhan, China has now spread all over the world. So much so, that the epicentre has shifted to Europe. Over 8000 are dead already and more than 2,00,000 are affected.
A majority of offices have asked employees to work from home. After all, safety comes first right? Travelling exposes the risk of infection or infecting others and of course being if office makes it risky for everybody.?
Now yes there are some jobs which cannot be done from home and necessary precautions are no doubt being taken by those involved. But what if you work in an office that has not given work from home? First of all, any office that can and is not is taking a big risk, but hypothetically let's say your office is not. What do you do? Quit? No, of course not, you need a job and going to work is mandatory. In that case here is what you need to do:?
?If you are using public transport or even if you are driving your own vehicle, it is best to protect one's breathing. It is the way coronavirus usually spreads so it is best to keep things in perspective.?
?Shaking hands is a no-no. After all, we do not want to spread infection through touch. First bumps or simple hello will do.?
Make sure you are seated some distance away. This reduces risk of transmission of the virus.?
?Go to the washroom to make sure your hands are clean on a regular basis. Do this without fail like your life depends on it, because it actually might.?
This is a must. Do this before you eat, handle your laptop, after you eat and even when you are done from work or when you enter the office. It's all about killing the germs.?
?Cleanliness is next to Godliness. Keeping the place clean around oneself is the best way to ensure you do not get sick.?
?If you are unwell and show possible symptoms, do not come to office. If you are infected, you put others at risk and even if you are not, it is best not to take the risk.?
?Best way to nip it in the bud is to screen employees before they enter. This way the risk is diminished early on.
