A snapshot of a JEE aspirant's demanding schedule has recently surfaced on X, shedding light on the immense dedication required to crack challenging competitive exams like the JEE for admission into prestigious institutions such as the IITs.?
Shared by a user identified as "Mr Rc" on X, the handwritten timetable belonged to a 17-year-old friend tirelessly preparing for the JEE.
"Schedule of a close friend who is preparing for JEE," Mr Rc captioned, alongside a photo of the timetable.
The schedule reveals a gruelling routine. The teenager rises at 4:30 am after just 4.5 hours of sleep. The morning begins with 2.5 hours dedicated to revising previous chapters, followed by class work until 10 am. Despite the demanding workload, the aspirant allows himself only a brief 15-minute nap before resuming class work at noon.
Lunch is a hurried affair, with just a 20-minute break. After that, studies continue for three more hours, punctuated by a 30-minute nap. From 4 pm to 8:30 pm, the teenager attends classes, with a 30-minute session for notes. Even after dinner, studies persist until 11:45 pm.
A motivational note at the bottom of the schedule underscores the importance of seizing each day: "Never will you have this day again. So make it count."
"According to Mr Rc, the JEE aspirant adheres strictly to this demanding schedule, propelled by the determination to uplift his family from poverty.
"He follows it very precisely. Filled with determination to bring his family out of poverty," Mr Rc affirmed.
Responses to the post emphasized the widespread prevalence of such rigorous routines among aspirants from less privileged backgrounds. One user, claiming to be an IIT student, recounted dedicating 10 to 14 hours daily to study while preparing for the JEE.
"Hard work has no alternative. Especially if you aren't rich and come from general merit," commented Bengaluru-based cardiologist Dr Deepak Krishnamurthy.
