Pune-based Kinetic has reintroduced its OG moped, Luana in India, as an EV.?
Kinetic Green on Wednesday unveiled the E-Luna in the domestic market.
The E-Luna has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 69,990 in India (ex-showroom, Delhi) and can be purchased from its dealers, the company's website, or from e-commerce platforms, Flipkart and Amazon.
The E-Luna comes in two variants -- X1, X2 and also has three battery options - 1.7 kWh, 2 kWh, offering 110 km of range and a 3 kWh unit with 150 km range.
As far as features are concerned, the E-Luna comes with a digital instrument console with a Distance to Empty (DTE) indicator, a USB charging port, three riding modes, a side-stand sensor and a combi-braking system.?
The E-Luna is available in five colour options - Mulberry Red, Pearl Yellow, Night Star Black, Ocean Blue and Sparkling Green.
According to Kinetic Green Founder and CEO Sulajja Firodia Motwani, customers can book the E-Luna at a nominal amount of Rs 500.
Following a strong response from B2B customers and e-commerce players, the company expects to sell 50,000 units to these customers, Motwani said.
Kinetic Green is looking to sell more than 1 lakh units of the electric version of Luna in the next financial year as it aims for a turnover of Rs 1,200 crore.
"We are targeting to sell 1 lakh units of E-Luna next fiscal as we expect the company turnover to touch Rs 1,200 crore next year," Motwani said.
She added that Kinetic Green would expand the E-Luna platform going ahead to cater to multiple segments.
"Our focus would however remain on the scooter vertical. We do not have any plans to get into the motorcycle segment," She said.
Kinetic, which was founded in 1972 launched its first Luna in the same year.
The original Luna which was a 50 cc moped, went on to become the company's most popular offering and was produced until 2000.
