Donald Trump's much awaited visit to India has been grabbing all the headlines lately. The US President will touch down in the country on February 24, and is expected to inaugurate the world's largest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad.?
While Trump has a huge following back in the States, he has an equally significant fan base in India. Or, should we say a more devoted and loyal. We are talking about, Bussa Krishna, from Telangana.?
Krishna has worshipped Trump ever since the New York real estate mogul appeared to him in a dream four years ago and he even fasts on every Friday for Trump's long life, he told Reuters.?
"My love for him has transformed into reverence. That has given me immense happiness. Hence instead of praying to other gods, I started praying to him," Bussa Krishna was quoted saying.
Krishna, a small real estate broker in his own right, has even transformed his home into a Trump shrine, where?he has installed a life-size statue of the US President.?
News agency ANI also reported that the Telangana native has requested the Indian goverment to fulfill his wish of meeting Donald Trump during his 2-day visit.?
His love for Trump is strong and his devotion to him much stronger. Krishna also revealed how his relatives have a problem with him worshiping Trump and even told him how he had embarrassed them in society.
¡°I am facing difficulties because of my relatives,¡± Krishna told Reuters. ¡°They tell me that I am disgracing them in society. I told them that just like you believe and worship Shiva, I believe and worship Trump. Neither of us can stop the other from doing so.¡±? ??
Krishna is not the only Indian to worship Donald Trump.
In New Delhi, members of the Hindu Sena, a right-wing fringe group, have begun rehearsing a welcome song in his honour.
Its members say Donald Trump shares their hatred of Islamic extremism, and they have in the past celebrated his birthday exuberantly, including pretending to feed cake to photos of his face.
"We like Donald Trump because he openly spoke about India's feelings," Hindu Sena leader Vishnu Gupta told Reuters. "...He openly said that he would eliminate Islamic terrorism from its roots, that is why I am his fan."
