A college student has stirred up widespread attention with a viral video where they engage in a dialogue with police officials about the availability of drugs among university and college students.?
The video captures a moment during a drug de-addiction campaign, igniting a conversation about the pressing issue.
"Sir, we have seen such a big program of drug de-addiction campaign, but the university is the biggest epicenter of drug addiction. Today, students from four universities are gathered here. Getting 'Ganja' or any intoxicating substance is as easy as getting toffee or lollipop," he expressed.
"If a first or second-year student can trace or track the drug dealers, then why can't police do so? Are the police lagging behind?" he inquired further.
"Being a student here, I know that there is a police station nearby and 'ganja' is available right in front of the post. So, don't you think this is a failure of the police?" he added.
The viral video was captioned, "A student from Dr BR Ambedkar National Law University, Sonipat, showed courage by addressing an issue that the police were avoiding discussing."
The video became popular rapidly, as numerous social media users praised the college student's bravery for asking a tough question. The comments section was filled with people applauding the student's courage, while many others agreed with his opinion that politics might sway authorities and aren't taking enough action.
"Excellent question and courageous kid indeed. We're asking the exact same questions here in the US (small town high school in the pnw) and guess what? They're not able to answer," praised a user.
Another commented, "Very courageous kid. We need more like him. The future of this country is bright."
"Yeah, it's all over in all the departments. It's called hafta!! The major problem is the ground level corruption which still needs to be addressed," wrote another user.
An account exclaimed, "I appreciate what the student said but has to understand law first. Why not report if something is going wrong? He is also a civilian and can do his duty. Why are we so dependent on the system."
"Well said! Even now you can get drugs outside the schools. If police want, they can catch all these drug dealers in 1 week. But I guess it will not be good for the police and local politicians for their personal interests," added another.
Another individual remarked, "More power to him. Haryana Police we need to rethink."
