In Telangana's Bhadradri Kothagudem district, authorities had to detain 15 goats for doing what they do to stay alive - eat grass.
The detained goats were also slapped with a fine of Rs 3,000 each.
According to a report by The Trubine, at least 15 goats were taken into custody for grazing on saplings planted as part of an afforestation drive at Telangana's Yellandu town in Bhadradri Kothagudem district. They were also slapped with a fine.
On Thursday, the municipal staff in Yellandu town noticed some goats damaging the plants and saplings planted in the area. Taking swift action, nine goats were apprehended on Thursday and six were detained on Friday.
All the 15 goats are now lodged at the municipality office. They are being fed by the concerned staff.?
A notice has been issued to the owner of the goats but no one has shown up to get them so far.
